Why was the system developed?

To give the disabled for various causes a chance to live a closer to normal life in the outdoors.

What is involved in the system?

The system includes a specially designed rod, casting or spinning, a harness for holding the rod while allowing the reel to be retrieved with one hand. The butt of the rod rest in a gimbal on a belt or in a special seat that will allow the fisherman to fish without the physical pressures of ordinary fishing.

History of the system;

In America today we have approximately 54 million people with some form of disability. To put it into prospective, sit down with 5 of your friends, statistically one of you will have some form of disability from mild to severe. This means that up to now, up to 16% of our potential sales have been blocked because of lack of equipment.

The system was actually started in 1988 for an amputee friend so he could fish. I could not get anyone interested until the spring of 2005 for manufacturing. I am now working with four wonderful companies and we are gaining wide acceptance for our line.

Who will benefit from this system?

The individual who is weak from a disease (heart or lung or one of many other health problems) and desires to continue to live in a normal fashion and enjoy their angling with some technical assistance.

Organized groups who take people from group homes and other surroundings for that once a year fishing trip to give the feel of outdoors to those who would otherwise not enjoy what the rest of us take for granted. These individuals may be both developmentally handicapped and physically handicapped.

Commercial applications:

The system will allow resorts and fishing guides to expand their clientele.

Rehabilitation centers and therapist have a new avenue for rehabilitation.
